About LEF
LEF is a nonprofit agency run by Lakewood residents. We operate solely by volunteers to keep our overhead costs very low.

​Lakewood residents and civic leaders sought to form a Lakewood school district in the mid-1990s. Their efforts became a movement to aid teachers with direct grants through the Lakewood Education Foundation.

​The funding for classroom grants is provided through:
  • Fireworks stand sales
  • Annual golf tournament 
  • Donations from Lakewood businesses and individuals
